FORWARD is a coalition dedicated to reversing the obesity trend in DuPage County by educating children and families about the importance of eating healthy and being physically active. FORWARD’s website offers information such as DuPage County obesity data and local resources that support nutrition and wellness.

The Garden Works Project:

The Garden Works Project is committed to promoting organic suburban agriculture to improve the well-being of DuPage families facing food insecurity. The Garden Works Project partners with area food pantries and social service organizations to support families who are both food insecure and want to grow their own food.

Illinois Alliance to Prevent Obesity (IAPO) - Fact Sheets:

IAPO is a statewide movement in Illinois that promotes policy, systems, and environmental changes aimed at reducing obesity. They provide fact sheets on a number of topics including but not limited to healthy eating, sugary beverages, active living, obesity trends, and much more.

Illinois Interagency Nutrition Council:

The Illinois Interagency Nutrition Council (INC) promotes health and wellness through nutrition education, coordination of services and access to nutrition programs so that Illinois residents can achieve food security. Popular topics include: healthy eating, cooking, food budgeting, and food safety.


MyPlate offers resources to help people develop healthy eating habits through nutrition education and tips to make small changes. Popular topics include: eating on a budget, MyPlate tip sheets and videos, recipes and menus, food safety, and dietary guidelines.
