Food Security Council

The vision of the DuPage Food Security Council is to build food systems in DuPage County that are accessible, sustainable and health promoting across all cultures and economic levels. Loaves and Fishes convened a meeting with stakeholders involved with the development of the DuPage Food Security Council on April 23, 2018. The meeting was an opportunity to review the work accomplished in Food Security Council subgroups over the last few months, and to offer input on the direction of the council for future meetings. The presentations from that meeting are listed below. The next DuPage Food Security Council stakeholder meeting is expected in September, 2018. For questions about the DuPage Food Security Council, contact Jane Macdonald at Questions regarding the work of the subgroups, can be directed to the following contacts:

On September 22, 2017, Loaves and Fishes held a Symposium, Beginning Conversations: Developing Food Security for DuPage County. The goal of this meeting was to begin the development of a Food Security Council responsible for cultivating a strong and equitable food system for DuPage County. The Symposium included several presentations to help attendees form a common understanding of food system components, needs and challenges, as well as identifying opportunities to unite and build a stronger food system. The Symposium presentation materials are included below.
